Gift Aid

Many of our Clarity Gift Aid clients ask us, “How can I encourage my donors to provide us with a Gift Aid Declaration and get that data flowing into Salesforce?”

As with many things Salesforce….there are a number of ways you could do this!

Firstly, generate a report of your donors who do not have an active Gift Aid Declaration in place. Then, using your preferred email tool you’ll need to email them, with a link to a form (see below) asking them to give you a Gift Aid Declaration.

The form can be set up in a number of ways:

1) With a third-party form building app, for example FormAssembly: When data is entered onto the form, using the form connector, it goes automatically into Salesforce when the supporter clicks on the Submit button. Form Assembly offer a non-profit discount, and as we are a partner you could also receive a further partner discount.

This option also gives you the ability to create other forms as and when required. The Form link(s) can be emailed to your supporters when needed, or forms can be embedded on your website.

2) With an API direct from a form on your website: this could update a field on the contact, and if ‘eligible’ is selected, could create a Gift Aid Declaration either from the API, or by a Flow.

3) Web to Case and Flow: This could create a Case which pre-populates various fields which triggers a Flow to update the Contact record appropriately (may only be appropriate if you are already using Cases).
