Holocaust Memorial Day Trust

The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) is the charity that promotes and supports Holocaust Memorial Day.

About Holocaust Memorial Day Trust

HMD has taken place in the UK since 2001, with a UK event and over 5,000 local activities taking place on or around 27 January each year.

The Department for Communities and Local Government has funded HMDT’s work since 2007.

HMDT has overseen massive growth of HMD activities – over 5,000 activities took place across the UK for HMD 2016. We have worked in partnership with many organisations to ensure the life stories of survivors are shared with hundreds of thousands of people.

The Challenge

They wished to work with a partner to help implement Salesforce as an organisational central system to replace various other sources being used.

In turn, this system would help various teams with work undertaken: executive, youth champions, youth board, trustees, remote volunteers etc.

Project Aims

  • To implement Salesforce system to enable HMDT to function effectively
  • Transfer existing data
  • To be able to collect, store, analyse and visualize data and report from various sources for specific projects, staff, funding & reporting requirements
  • To be advised on assessing data and the taking care of the quality and accuracy of the available data
  • Helping query the data, perform analyses and present findings in a clear and understandable language
  • Train and support staff on the new system
  • Long term maintenance of system and ongoing support

The Solution

  • Installation and set up the Nonprofit Starter Pack (NPSP)
  • Set up of MailChimp for mass emailing
  • Use of Salesforce ‘campaigns’ to record national and local events, which is integrated with Eventbrite
  • Management of case studies at no extra development cost
  • Website integration for forms – Activity Pack orders, event registration and e-newsletter sign up
  • Data migration – ‘Extract, Transform and Load’ into Salesforce
  • A couple of days dedicated to training users
